Concept
For our birthday party at our flat, we created an audio reactive installation. The sculpture is made from clothesline which build a portal of birth where people can walk through. To suit the party better we also made the installation audio reactive.
The sculpture was placed in the passage between kitchen and living room. So everybody who wanted to change the room had to take this transition through our installation.
How does it work?
The lights are controlled by an Arduino with a dimmer circuit we build and the music is processed with vvvv and send via RS232 to the Arduino. In the original concept, the portal was made out of air cushion and could open and close, however, due to technical problems we adapted the concept after some prototypes which did not work as planned.
